The Hoffman Kiln, Llanymynech, Shropshire, England by Sam Davis - Photographic Print

There are three Hoffman Limekilns in the United Kingdom, this one at Llanymynech is one of the smaller ones and is nicely preserved. These kiln's were active in the early 20th century but their use was short-lived due to their high labour demand and subsequently low output during the first world war. Following the war they were surpassed by new technologies.
